The development was an extensive undertaking: the project involved excavating and filling over 33,000 cubic yards of earth, installing 5,000 linear feet of storm drain pipe and 2,550 linear feet of sewer line, building a new sewer lift station, and installing a Multi-Flow Sub Drainage System with two miles of perforated filter pipe. This substantial infrastructure investment reflects the city's approach to building a modern recreational facility on a greenfield site.
Environmental stewardship was part of the design process. The park includes a 7.6-acre wildlife mitigation area with native plantings, preserving habitat within the developed space. Additional amenities include rail-fenced, decomposed-granite horse trails suited for equestrian use, restroom and concession facilities, Tot Lot play structures designed for younger children, shade shelters, and picnic tables. Two snack bars provide refreshment during events and league activities, and a parking lot accommodates visitors arriving by vehicle from across the city.
